December 24th, 2008

A different approach indeed: I was in charge of Cubase, while Buks and Bram recorded some riffs for a new, Testament-like song. Sounds cool huh? And it might turn out to be cool in the end too, haha!
See you in the new year!

December 18th, 2008

This week's rehearsal was a complete opposite of the last one. We started out with many ideas, but during the evening forgot all of them! Buks's understated comment as always: "then they weren't good enough to begin with". Yeah, but now we've got nothing...
We drank some beer, talked to the guys in Hurricane Jack, and had a few laughs - the usual. Next week: a different approach!

December 4th, 2008

Our first rehearsal as Wrecking Crew since, well, months actually! We decided to play the whole album (except for Lord of the Seventh Sea) to see if our physical condition was still up to it. And luckily for us it was!
We ended the evening by trying to remember, and eventually playing, a jam from half a year ago - it still sounded great, so that's definitely something that should end up on our next album. We even added a new middle part and a fantastic, Bolt Thrower-type outro.

October 2nd, 2008

With another eight rehearsals to go we're already playing more than half the setlist in fine form. Hans sang a couple of his songs last night, as well as picking up a few other tracks from bands like AC/DC and Thin Lizzy - nice!
Besides all that we're working on a cool looking poster for the gig as well as figuring out how we're going to record it...

September 25th, 2008

Another fine rehearsal... Nico sang four of his five songs for the Gig for Nob and after he left I sang a song and Ronald did several even!
And it has to be said: some of the covers sound really good. Next week Hurricane Hans will join us for a couple of songs.

September 18th, 2008

Our second rehearsal for this year's Gig for Nob. We were joined by Feike from 10 Electric and had a great time with some songs from AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Kiss and Deep Purple. You get the idea!
Next week we'll be joined by Remco and Nico again...

June 12th, 2008

The first of surely many rehearsals where we're jamming and writing new songs! Yesterday evening we spent 2 hours working on one song, and it's faaast. It certainly looks like our love for Defleshed is surfacing...
The rest of the evening was spent on talking about this year's Gig for Nob and drinking beer of course . Life is good.

May 29th, 2008

Aaah, it's so much better to rehearse in a hot room when you're sitting in a cool breeze! We have a new fan - 100% metal!! A picture will follow...
We played through our intended setlist twice and, although we're leaving out 'Torquemada', it'll be one of our fastest and heaviest yet!

May 22nd, 2008

A fine and hot rehearsal again, the new (and old) songs are no problem at all. The next couple of weeks will see us finetuning the setlist.
Besides that we're trying our hand at the song 'Seasons in the Abyss' by you-know-who. Might turn up in a future setlist even...

May 15th, 2008
After several weeks of beer-infested meetings (and no rehearsals) yesterday evening went quite well! With the all-pervasive heat of the last weeks we were drenched after only a couple of songs already.
With the June 6 gig in mind we have decided to add some new songs to the setlist, most notably 'Torquemada' and 'Never Again'. It promises to be one of our heavier gigs...

April 4th, 2008

Another rehearsal with Remco again, so we had the double guitar attack again - niiice. We have a solid set prepared for the Springpop festival, and if the rehearsal is anything to go by, people will be impressed.

March 27th, 2008

Disappointments set aside, we got to work yesterday for our setlist for the Springpop festival. We're choosing some of the more accessible songs, seeing as there won't be a strictly metal audience. And... we'll play 'Eyes of God' live for the first time!

March 20th, 2008

With an intimidatingly impressive performance by OverKill still in mind we had our last rehearsal before the Metal Battle semi-final. The competition is tough, but Ronald's playing is topnotch and we have a solid set, so we'll see how it goes!

March 15th, 2008

After last night we have only one rehearsal to go before the Metal Battle but, aside from some details, Ronald is doing fine. We played the setlist three times without too much trouble - it's only half an hour playing time of course. And for the ultimate inspiration we're seeing the mighty OverKill tonight!

March 6th, 2008

Drumming uphill all evening and without my trusty fan to cool me off (it passed away at the last gig ) we nonetheless had a fine rehearsal with Ronald. We're all quite confident we're going to make a good impression at the Metal Battle in 2 weeks. See you there?

March 1st, 2008

Our last rehearsal for the gig tonight was interesting for the fact that Nico had shuffled the setlist around and we had Ronald joining us. He's going to try to learn five songs from the new album for the Metal Battle semi-final. So far he seems to pick it up quite well...

February 21st, 2008

With our glorious victory fresh in mind emotions were running high. We've decided what songs to play in the semi-final, but first up is the gig here in our own Leiden next week!

February 15th, 2008

While Nico is preparing himself for Battle by going to the Megadeth gig, the rest of us is working hard with the set for tomorrow's Metal Battle - we're prepared!

February 8th, 2008

Remco's with us, so the sound is there: twin rhythm thunder - cool! We rehearsed our Metal Battle setlist three times and added 'Eyes of God' just for fun. The machine is rolling and we're in fine shape, so with just one rehearsal to go we're quite ready to go into battle!

January 31st, 2008
Yesterday evening we played our Metal Battle set twice and also added a couple of songs that we'll be playing at the benefit festival. Actually the same as last week when I couldn't be arsed to write this column . For our next two rehearsals we'll have Remco joining us again, so we'll have that double wall of sound again... nice!

January 10th, 2008
We're getting there! With our second rehearsal in a long time we already noticed improvement. The setlist has been decided upon, but we'll keep that a secret for now
The rest of the evening was spent with drinking and some planning for the Gig for Nob later this year...

January 3rd, 2008

After a long time of not rehearsing blisters were to be expected... Nonetheless we played the whole new album plus 'Witchblade' from our first album! Yes indeed, an oldie but goodie. We're going to try to include that song in the setlist for the March 1st gig.

November 15th, 2007

A splendid rehearsal where Bram brought some ideas for a new song with some Exodus-influences. We also took his earlier At The Gates-like set of riffs and continued with that. So while our second album isn't even finished, we're already writing for our third!!

October 11th, 2007

Our first rehearsal since our Scum gig and we decided to liven things up by trying our hand at some songs from our first album. 'Never Again' has been played a couple of times the last months and still sounds killer, but 'Under Attack' and yes, 'Witchblade' took us by surprise. Especially the last one is really fast! They fit well with the new songs, so we'll probably include them in our live set in the future. Next week 'Gladiator' and 'Doom Song'?

September 25th, 2007

Now a rehearsal on a monday... and YES, we can do it! Remco joined us and we rocked hard. We played the whole setlist twice, and Agent Slaughter even four times I believe. This song will be great to hear live. CU Saturday!

September 19th, 2007

Shifted to a tuesday to accomodate Remco we found out we're not in the same shape as on wednesdays. Remco was ill, Nico left halfway, and Bram and me were SO tired at the end... Why do we need to play at these speeds!? Of course Buks was fit as ever.
Next week we're doing our final rehearsal before the gig in legendary Scum!

September 13th, 2007

Yes, the rehearsal last night was more like it! We thrashed twice through our intended setlist for the Scum gig and also played our oldie but goodie 'Cry Havoc'. That last song might be an encore... We'll see.
Next week Remco joins us again, so we'll have the double guitar assault again - it'll be LOUD

September 6th, 2007

For the first time in three months we rehearsed again and, as can be expected, it was hard and tiring. Nonetheless we played with literally blistering intensity and feel pretty confident we'll be up to speed for the gig in Scum this month. We're probably going to play 'Agent Slaughter' live for the first time there!

June 7th, 2007

Last night's rehearsal we spent some time checking and adding to some of the lyrics. We've also brainstormed on the idea of recording Nico's vocals here. More on that later!

May 24th, 2007

With Nico on holiday we spent time working out some new riffs. We have several great sounding ones for potentially three songs or so, the difficulty always being the chorus though. So now we're considering a new approach to the chorus riffs, a bit less melodic perhaps... More on this later, surely!

May 17th, 2007

A fine rehearsal where we discovered we're only now in the proper shape to play all the new songs in one go, without cramps and the thought of still having to play 'War Machine' terrifying us, haha!
We ended the evening by jamming along to some new ideas - next week Nico's on holiday, so we'll continue jamming then - and who knows, perhaps we'll write a new song even!

May 10th, 2007

Skipping a week after our fine gig in Dordrecht Buks picked up his guitar again and together with Bram playing on Nico's guitar we jammed a bit, trying out some new ideas. We're definitely looking for a heavier sound in the future - The Haunted comes to mind! Besides jamming and of course rehearsing a couple of the new songs we spent quite some time enjoying a couple of beers...

April 17th, 2007

Excitement all around as we gathered for our final rehearsal before next week's gig at the Bibelot in Dordrecht! Nico having spent hundred of euros on a new terrific monitor we played our setlist twice - and it rocked! We hope to see you there.

April 12th, 2007

Skipping one rehearsal because of the cancelled gig we got together again this week to solidy the setlist for our gig in Dordrecht in two weeks. With just half an hour of playtime we've got 6 songs on our setlist and we won't be holding back! Expect five new songs in all their splendid glory!

March 28th, 2007

Ah finally! The two-guitar assault is back again! I tried hard, but in the larger rehearsal room with a better floor there was no way I was going to be louder than two thrashing guitars and a thundering bass.... We went through the setlist twice and it all sounds very solid. 'Torquemada' had to go though, there's just too little time for Remco to learn that one. Instead we'll play 'All-time Heroes' - sure to please all of them.

March 22nd, 2007

Another evening with the four of us (next week Remco will join us again) and we went through the setlist like hungry maniacs! I'm not sure what was in my coffee, but I was speedy like hell! 'Never Again' sounds great, we'll probably keep playing that one for a while...

March 15th, 2007

With Bram arriving a bit later because he had recorded the acoustic guitars for 'Open Fire', we nonetheless had a splendid start of the evening. Buks has some very cool riffs for a new song! Priest-like, but with enough possibilities to thrash it up. My kinda thing exactly . Besides all that we went through all the songs we're going to play at the gigs in April (and then some) and found our condition has improved noticeably. 'Underground', 'Torquemada', and yes even 'Never Again' pounded like never before!

March 1st, 2007

Being the first proper rehearsal as a foursome again (Remco is working out his leads at home), it was good to play all the songs again. Definitely an improvement over last week! Extra incitement was the presence of the organisers of a big party for students in April. Needless to say, we were the metalband they were looking for! .
Rounding off the evening with Bram's new song it was a good evening indeed.

February 22nd, 2007

As we found out we need to be in better condition to play our songs properly, haha. A couple of weeks of recording somehow makes sure you can't play them at the right speed!
Rest assured, from now on we'll rehearse weekly again so that the gig(s?) in april will go fine.

February 1st, 2007

With a last-minute change of plans we ended up in the rehearsal room instead of Studio Simmons. With Bram in Belgium tasting beer (yeah right), we played through 7 of our new songs with ease. After that we concentrated on the lyrics to 'Open Fire' and 'Torquemada' - with Nico's recording session coming closer the pressure is increasing... Will we make it in time?

January 11th, 2007

Yesterday while we were playing through all the songs (which we indeed are able to play!) Buks and Bram thought of some extra harmonies, just to make it a bit more interesting for the listener...
And by messing around with the tempos of 'War Machine' we got this great intro we're going to use live - very Slayer-like!
Last but not least: Bram has written a nice and dark part for his new song - we all like it very much!

December 28th, 2006

Last night we've been working on the lyrics to 'Open Fire', 'Agent Slaughter' and the provisionally titled "Witchburner". Sometimes just one word makes all the difference...
Bram also brought some ideas for a new song even! There's no stopping us!

December 21th, 2006

With the pressure slightly off after having successfully recorded the drum and bass tracks, last night was one to discuss various technical options. We've also discussed a possible title for the album, but aren't completely satisfied yet, so you'll have to wait for that one a bit longer.
Besides that, we drank a couple of beers and had some fun at the expense of anyone and everyone.

December 7th, 2006

Okay then, the last one before we're entering the studio! Several songs were played drum and bass only, with Bram on sticks The songs aren't completely finished, but that will leave room for some last-minute inspiration... In any case: we're ready!

December 1st, 2006

It appears the forces of evil were conspiring to prevent Wrecking Crew from preparing for the Gig for Nob! We have been attacked by thieves, muggers, bureaucrats and technical trouble - but we have prevailed!
Tonight is the fourth Gig for Nob and - if last night's rehearsal is anything to go by - we will definitely wreck the place. See you there!!!

November 24th, 2006

A special rehearsal this time: all five of us were joined by Ronald Vandenbos - our old Havoc bandmate and of course leeadguitarist on 'Another Fine Wreck'! The occasion was the upcoming Gig for Nob where Ronald will join us for three songs.
I've also changed my drumheads and I must say it all sounds much better! Now if only I could get a new pair of legs...

November 9th, 2006

Getting close to the recording of drum and bass now, our engineer came around to check out the songs and the sound. We tried a different snare for the faster songs, which definitely worked!
Next week Bram and me will skip a rehearsal to go over all the songs and prepare for the studio. But first: EXODUS on friday!

November 2nd, 2006

Ah, the joy of hitting new stuff! And how LOUD the new cymbals were!! Lovely.
'Agent Slaughter' is already quite tight, so we're very confident it'll be a great track on the upcoming album.
The next few weeks will see us getting ready for the studio and the Gig for Nob!

October 19th, 2006

Okay then, 'Agent Slaughter' is pretty much there, with a cool middle part that we've changed a bit since last week to accomodate Nico. Now it's up to me to finish the last set of lyrics: I just need one verse and something for the middle part... and a title

October 12th, 2006

Last night was mostly spent on getting the re-written 'fast' song right. It now goes by the title 'Agent Slaughter' - a none too subtle little number you can imagine . Now I only need to check Nico's lyrics and perhaps add a bit here and there...
We've also settled on a different set of lyrics for '21st Century' - no title as of yet but it deals with revenge... More later!

October 5th, 2006

After a warming-up with 'Underground' and 'Open Fire' we started to write a new chorus to our 'fast' song as we weren't satisfied with the original chorus. The change was so big that we shortened the bridge and even dropped the whole middle part in favour of a completely new one! Talk about rigorous re-writing...
We ended up changing a small bit in 'Open Fire' too which I'm sure I'll forget, but ah, hell, Bram will remember.

September 21st, 2006

Just a quickie now: the setlist is solid! We're very satisfied and we'll make sure people will have a good and heavy time tomorrow at Nico's Party!
Be sure to come around to buy our promotional single or try to obtain some Wrecking Crew Beer Coupons!

September 14th, 2006

Well then, if next week's gig will go as well as last night's rehearsal we're going to tear the place down! We've tightened up the set considerably, with a couple of easier-going songs inbetween all the sonic assault - check out the setlist!
The beer-break was used to brainstorm on the cover and title for the upcoming album; we're getting close to revealing the title now...

September 7th, 2006

Ah, how much we like rehearsing with five guys in a hot and sweaty room! Yesterday evening was useful nevertheless: we thrashed through our set with only minor glitches from Remco's side (and ours ). By the time of Nico's Party we'll be a mean, lean Wrecking machine!

August 31st, 2006

A bit rusty this evening, but we went at it again anyway. We even found out Bram can also play the bass! If he could sing he'd be a one-man Wrecking Crew haha!
Besides all this I rewrote the lyrics to our 'Rammstein' song a bit and it is now called 'Underground'! Oh and next week Remco will join us again.

August 24th, 2006

Alas, conflicting schedules made it impossible for Remco to join us last night, but we practiced hard at the setlist for Nico's Party anyway. We're very excited to be able to perform 'Open Fire' and 'Rammstein', and we'll make sure you will be impressed!
Write it down: Friday September 22nd!

August 17th, 2006

All tanned and rested we tried our hands at the new setlist for Nico's Party in September. And what a blistering setlist it is - literally! We're going to play our new songs 'Open Fire' and 'Rammstein' (we'll have a proper title for this one soon, I promise).
Old-timers will be happy to know we're also doing 'Cry Havoc' from way back then.

July 20th, 2006

Just a short rehearsal this time, the hottest day of the year. Bram and me played all 10 songs that will be on the album soaked in sweat. They still are great though
Back in a month!

June 15th, 2006

Bram arrived with a new chorus for our 'Fast' song which works out pretty well, although it's dangerously tempting to accelerate the whole song to the point where I end with my arms falling off. Not a pretty sight...
We've also added a nice bit of harmony in 'Eyes of God' which I think is rather splendid. We're indeed finetuning our songs now!

June 8th, 2006

Another splendid rehearsal - we've played all 9 new songs plus the 'Wrecking Crew' cover now for a couple of weeks, and most of them are turning out pretty good. The cover song needs some work still, but in my opinion it is an essential song in our repertoire
One of the biggest changes we're now facing is a new chorus for our 'fast' song, so we'll try and nail that next week. Besides that Nico and me are working on the lyrics to the last half of the songs. Almost there...

March 16th, 2006

After warming up with a couple of the new songs, amongst them of course 'Open Fire' - which is definitely turning into a great song, we tried the faster songs from 'Another Fine Wreck'. We hadn't played them for 3 years, but they went surprisingly well!
Then we focussed on 'Eyes of God' again - it's becoming quite a complicated progressive track - which gets me worrying about the next album being perhaps too diverse...

March 9th, 2006

Concentrating of course on 'Falling Down' and 'War Machine' - the 2 songs that we'll be recording this weekend at SAE - I surprised Nico with a slight rewrite of his lyrics to 'Falling Down'. They worked out great though.
Besides that, Nico came up with lyrics for 'Open Fire'. Oh and we also continued on our newest song 'Eyes of God'. We're on a roll!

March 2nd, 2006

Funny how things go: nothing that was originally in 'Black Void' is now in 'Eyes of God'. So we have yet another new song coming up - not bad eh?
We've also finished the first half of the other new song; the one that was based on a fine and brutal riff Bram came up with a couple of weeks ago. Next thing you'll know we'll have to decide which songs aren't going to be on the new album haha

February 23rd, 2006

Bram's great new riff might be made into yet another song. With two or three other bits it could work, but it'll take some time still.
It seems my announcement on scrapping the song 'Black Void' was premature: Nico thinks it's ideal for his 'Eyes of God' lyric that he's written a while ago. Rest assured, my toiling away at the 'Black Void' lyric was still useless

February 16th, 2006

Another fine rehearsal where most new songs were played. Thinking of what the new album needs we set about trying to write a new song... And lo and behold: Bram came with yet another brilliant and brutal riff!
Oh and of course the one song for which I've finished the lyrics might be scrapped; we're not satisfied where 'Black Void' is going (if indeed it is going somewhere at all).

February 9th, 2006

All eyes are focused on this weekend of course: Wrecking Crew is entering the studio again for the first time in almost three years! With 'Falling Down' and 'War Machine' we think we have an interesting couple of tracks for our preproduction demo.
This saturday drums, bass and Buks's rhythm guitar will be recorded - we'll keep you updated via this site...
So SAE Institute - prepare to be Wrecked!

February 2nd, 2006

Buks took up the bass last night to go over all the parts in our latest batch of songs as well as 'Falling Down' and 'War Machine' - these last two being the ones we're planning on recording next week.
Besides this Max had invited his friend Jan from Ska-D-Lite to check out a couple of songs where he might be able to add some saxophone... Scary huh?

January 26th, 2006

'How to turn a collection of eight (8) riffs into a song' - lesson 1.
We're getting quite handy at this songwriting business - and sometimes "less" is "more" indeed! Perhaps our statement on completing 'Another Fine Bram' last week was a bit premature, but this time around we're quite happy with where it is now.
A date for the second recording session has been decided upon too: March 11th.

January 19th, 2006

Another great rehearsal where we cut and pasted some cool riffs, completing 'Another Fine Bram'. Nico also finished his lyrics for the 'Rammstein' song, a little editing there and another song is completed!
The time that was left was spend on practicing the songs for the pre-production demo that will be recorded soon! First session for drums is on the 11th of February...

January 5th, 2006

After two weeks of rehearsing our current batch of songs, the illustriously named 'fast', 'Bram's Song' and 'Rammstein' of course, we now tried to finish Bram's second addition - appropriately named 'Another Fine Bram'.
And as it goes, we're not free from influences we now have a riff in there that's nothing less than something that Bolt Thrower would do!

December 15th, 2005

No new songs this time, but Nico did put down a good vocal line for our 'Rammstein' song.
Besides that we found out that we can think of stuff we can hardly play! Needless to say we're not likely to put that into a song....
Oh and the holidays will see us getting prepared for the recording of our preproduction demo of course.

December 8th, 2005

Another solid rehearsal where our four newest songs were getting better all the time! As usual the slowest song 'Black Void' gives us the most trouble... Then again, Bram came with another good riff that was turned into an interesting jam. We might make yet another song out of it!

December 1st, 2005

Barely having survived the third Gig for Nob we've more or less finished up Bram's Song - all the bits are there, now we only have to play them properly
Besides that we're preparing to record a two-song preproduction demo early next year...

November 24th, 2005

Already contributing heavily Bram has written a new song with us last night! A bit reminiscent of 'Never Again' it has an interesting middle part with acoustic guitars! No need to worry though, the song is heavy as hell - trust us, okay?
Besides that the lyrics to 'Black Void' are almost finished and we're really satisfied with the 'Rammstein' song...

November 10th, 2005

So, what have we been doing the last couple of weeks?
Well, we've been rehearsing with our new guitarist Bram Heijs! He's picking up on our songs astonishingly fast. Find out more about him at the Biography page!
So far we've mainly concentrated on finishing our latest songs - formerly known only as slow, medium and fast, the first two now have the working titles 'Black Void' and 'Rammstein' (scary eh?)

September 22nd, 2005

Another relaxed evening for us We played a couple of tracks from our album, a few of the finished songs as well as some of the newly written ones.
Nevermore last sunday made a terrific impression - if only we were as good as them, haha!

September 15th, 2005

We rehearsed our new songs and fine-tuned them, adding little bridges and breaks. Next to that we even recorded a couple of new ideas, one of which is inspired by Voi-Vod even!

September 8th, 2005

A fine and hot rehearsal was spent on figuring out some bits in our new songs. Sadly we have no titles as of yet, so you'll have to settle for 'medium' and 'Bay Area song'.
Next to that we had some new riffs and ideas which we might work into proper songs - oh yes.
We would prefer to have several songs to choose from when we're going to record our next album...

Augustus 25th, 2005

A planned rehearsal of our setlist for the upcoming gig was cut short because the gig was cancelled. We then took up our recently written songs and found that if we finish these off we'll probably have enough for our second album!

Augustus 18th, 2005

Another Fine Rehearsal - we've finished the basics for two new songs. All the riffs are there, the arrangement is clear, but we'll probably be adding little touches here and there.

Augustus 11th, 2005

After our usual warming up with the setlist we've continued with our new medium paced song - it's near finished... if only for lyrics and vocal lines

July 28th, 2005

Back at it again! We've worked on two of our newest songs - the medium paced one is very near finished even! We're still on schedule for the planned recording of our second album at the end of the year...
Very soon we might have some interesting line-up news for you... but first: the Pilgrimage to Wacken Open Air next week!

June 30th, 2005

Our last rehearsal before our summer holiday... Apparently we need to recharge our batteries because we weren't very inspired last night.
The next few weeks will see me going through the recordings we made at our last gig - if good enough you'll find them here to download!
See you in a month!

June 23rd, 2005

Ah, yet another after-gig rehearsal. Pressure's a bit off now with our next gig more than two months away and a solid setlist under our belts.
After going through a couple of songs with Nico, we've continued with our three new songs, for which we still don't have proper titles. The slow one might be called 'We, the dead' - another happy metal song then.

June 16th, 2005

Another solid rehearsal for the gig this friday. We've omitted 'Under Attack' as we weren't satisfied with it yet. We've got a fourteen song setlist so better prepare for 1:15 hours of total metal!
Oh and we'll be recording the gig too - if the quality is good enough we'll put them up here to download for free!

June 9th, 2005

We're getting ready for our gig next week in the LVC attic. We've added a few covers and we're also doing 'Under Attack' from our album and a wrecked version of 'War of Mind'. We'll be playing for about 75 minutes or something.
I think we're getting tighter as a unit, so hopefully it shows! See ya next week!

June 2nd, 2005

A few easy hours were spent with arranging and rearranging our new songs, which, in an inspired move, we've called 'slow', 'medium' and 'fast'... Sorry about that.
Anyway, the fast one is pretty nice if I say so myself. With the slow song I'm trying my hand on writing lyrics again.

May 26th, 2005

Our time last night was divided into rehearsing some covers, Under Attack and War of Mind, as well as continuing with one of the newly written songs of last week's rehearsal. This is the fast thrasher I mentioned. We just need a good chorus bit and then Nico's got his work cut out.
The plan is we'll continue writing new songs during the summer, finish everything up in september/october and then hit the studio around christmas...

May 19th, 2005

We've been working on Remco's "Bay Area" song and even came up with possibly three new songs - of course all three need more arranging and some extra writing. One is a slow plodding, very heavy track, another a solid punching good headbanging song, and the third a fast thrasher. We're not out of ideas yet!

May 12th, 2005

Okay, our last rehearsal for the gig tonight - we have a solid setlist we think and we're a really tight unit now.
We took some extra time to make sure 'Never Again' and 'Nothing But The Truth' are as good as on the record (or better even). It'll also be the first time we'll be playing 'Lord of the Seventh Sea' live!
Suffice to say we're quite ready! See ya tonight!

May 5th, 2005

While Remco is working with his other band Lap of Time we took the two songs he's written for us and started rearranging them. Not easy, but we are getting somewhere.
The gig next week is looking great, and Nico is preparing for some 'special effects' as well! Total Metal Mayhem!!

April 28th, 2005

Preparations are well underway for a splendid 1-hour set that we'll be doing in two weeks time. We're finally going to play 'Nothing But The Truth' live!
Besides that 'Never Again' is turning out to be a real masterpiece that should make quite an impression live - that's of course only our opinion

April 21st, 2005

Last night was LOUD! A double guitar attack will do wonders for a tired drummer...
It's been a while since we have played 'Nothing But The Truth', 'Cry Havoc' or 'Never Again', but they still sound great. We'll be proud to play them at the gig in May.
Besides rehearsing for the upcoming gigs we'll also be concentrating on finishing Remco's songs the coming weeks. We'll keep you informed!

April 7th, 2005

Wrecking Crew is happy to announce the birth of Buks' son JORIS!
The boy will grow up on diet of Rush, OverKill, Thin Lizzy, Motörhead, Whitesnake and AC/DC exclusively .
Other than that we've actually solidified our setlist for this saturday's gig - WE'RE STOKED! See you there!

March 24th, 2005

Last night we made some new recordings as we weren't satisfied with the sound quality of those of two weeks ago. Now the sound is much better - we'll get some new soundfiles up in a few days.
It now seems the whole SpringPop festival may be in jeopardy as a result of noise complaints - we'll keep you up to date. Oh and Buks will have his third child one of these days!

March 17th, 2005

Preparations for our Spring 2005 tour of Leiden are in full swing now - yesterday evening we rehearsed the setlist a few times too tighten everything up.
We also changed the chorus in 'World War III' a bit - hopefully for the better
Due to time limitations we have to cut back the setlist to 8 songs, so we decided to leave 'Never Again' out - we will do that one in May though!

March 10th, 2005

Last night we recorded some of the songs that are on the setlist for SpringPop - where we'll be headlining no less!
In a few days you will be able to download songs like 'Falling Down', 'War Machine' and 'World War III' from this site. Keep your eyes peeled!

March 3rd, 2005

Buks picked up the bass last night so Remco had to provide all the guitars. After some technical difficulties all went smoothly. The chorus of World War III was changed a bit, and Hall of the Mountain King sounded terrific already!
Next week we're going to try to record some songs - which will be available for download here!

February 24th, 2005

Besides rehearsing the setlist we also started writing a new song! It's a midtempo Kreator-type of song, without those vocals then of course
There's a chance we'll add another cover song to the setlist for the April and May gigs - Nico really wants it. Max quit his other band, so there will be weekly wrecking from now on.

February 10th, 2005

Yesterday evening was spent with rehearsing all the songs for the upcoming gigs. Yes, that's right - GIGS. April will see us adding our racket to the Springpop festival. In May we'll be playing local metal pub 'De Hut' and in June we'll do a 2-hour gig in the LVP! Exact dates and times will follow!

January 27th, 2005

Remco added his leads to our four finished songs - splendid stuff of course! We'll be finetuning them the coming weeks. We're also thinking of doing a gig in April in Leiden - we'll be playing these four new songs next to four from 'Another Fine Wreck' and a cover song. Keep an eye on this site for all the details!

January 13th, 2005

We've finished our new song 'War Machine' - it's a fast devil! It only needs some additional lyrics which are written right now.
Next rehearsal we'll finally have Remco playing with us. He has written yet another song, so we'll have enough to do!

December 30st 2004

Last night saw us changing a minor bit in the chorus of 'Lord of the Seventh Sea' - this song will be a classic surely!
We've also written a completely new song! Going by the name of 'War Machine', it is an up-tempo killer with a massive middle part.

December 23rd 2004

Last night we solidified our first three new songs - lyrics and vocal lines are done!
We've also changed major parts of our "Motörhead" track; it's now -very- eighties Our "Coroner Jam" will probably be an instrumental track as it doesn't lend itself well for vocals.

December 9th 2004

With only small lyrical corrections and additions to go we have three songs finished! Remco will soon join us to add his magnificent lead work to 'World War III', 'Falling Down' and 'Lord of the Seventh Sea'. Next up are the two songs written by him, "Wrecked For Life" and "Bay Area"...
Because of hearing problems John won't join us - Remco though is making more time to create some blistering metal!

November 25th 2004
Getting back into it again we warmed up with 'The Beast' and 'Never Again' and realised these songs are still as strong as when we recorded them. The rest of the evening saw us rehearsing 'Falling Down', 'World War III' and 'Lord of the Seventh Sea'. We even added something to the middle part of the "Coroner Jam". Also the beginnings of a new groovy track were laid down.

November 4th 2004
Wrecking Crew is taking a few weeks off to let Nico recover - Max' cover band 10 Electric is taking the opportunity to rehearse a bit more to make the upcoming Gig for Nob an evening to remember! See you there!

October 14th 2004
Last night's rehearsal - the first one for the upcoming Gig for Nob - went surprisingly well! So well even that we've decided to add U.F.O.'s 'Natural Thing' to the setlist. We'll play 5 songs off the 'War Of Mind' album as well as our own 'All-time Heroes' - already a classic!

September 23rd 2004
Okay it's been a while, but then again: we have interesting news! Seeing as Ronald and Remco hardly have the time to attend our rehearsals we have found a new guitarist! John Gorree is an old friend of Nico's and a familiar face to Buks and me. He will do most (if not all) lead parts for the new songs as well as co-write new songs. For now he's getting familiar with 'Falling Down', 'Lord of the Seventh Sea' and 'World War III'.

August 26th 2004
Last night was our last normal rehearsal for a while. Buks rewrote the middle part to 'Lord of the Seventh Sea' - it'll be epic! We'll be going to see Whitesnake and then rehearse intensively for the second Gig for Nob.
->October 9th, La Rocka November 20th, Lazarus, Leiden<-

August 12th 2004
After our pilgrimage to Wacken Open Air we entered our rehearsal room to structure our recent Motörhead-type of song. It will be a short one, 3:30 or so. Some changes to 'Lord of the Seventh Sea' were made and a new jam was recorded, although we're not really sure it will end up on our next album...

July 22nd 2004
With a new Exodus-type of song added last night, we potentially have 11 songs to work on! Some are more wrecked than others and will need work, but still: a new album is in the making!
Tracklist (most are working titles): 'World War III', 'Falling Down', "First Wreck", "Wrecked for Life", "Bay Area", "Coroner Jam", 'Lord of the Seventh Sea', "Motorhead", "Exodus", 'Alone', 'Watching Through the Eyes of God'.

June 24th 2004
'World War III' is going to be a fan favourite it seems - I'll put a sample up soon! Work continued on 'Lord of the Seventh Sea' and a new Motörhead-type of song might be on the next album too...

June 17th 2004
The new doom song is right up Nico's street it seems - working title: 'Lord of the Seventh Sea'. Lyrics that were unused for many years fit right into our "Coroner Jam", which might be called 'Metal Circus'. Last but not least we're going to start work on two new songs titled 'Alone' and 'Watching Through The Eyes Of God'. No subject matter too heavy for us indeed!

May 27th 2004
Work continued on our "Coroner Jam", it's turning into a very interesting song indeed... Check out a sample in the Downloads section! Also the first inklings of a new doom song have been recorded. Hopefully this one won't take three years to finish

May 13th 2004
Instrumental versions of 'Falling Down' and 'World War III' were recorded. Our Coroner-type jam is turning into a proper song even! Remco will take a short break to finish recording with his other band Lap Of Time.

April 22nd 2004
The first three new songs have been recorded! Nico is venturing into new and interesting areas with these tracks. I'll try to put some samples up here in a week or so.

April 1st 2004
A very productive evening yet again - a completely insane middle part for one of our new songs was written. Coroner comes to mind... Next up: recording a demo!

March 18th 2004
Time was spent on rehearsing new songs "Wrecked For Life" and 'Falling Down' as well as arranging Remco's "Bay Area" song. Oh and we're going to record a demo in four weeks.

March 4th 2004
Remco is spending time with his other band Lap Of Time, while Nico joined us to work on our first two new songs, tentatively titled 'Falling Down' and 'World War III'.

February 19th 2004
We've continued to work on Remco's thrash song, working title "Wrecked For Life" . Inspired by our last rehearsal Remco wrote a third song with obvious Bay Area influences.
So all in all we already have 5 (five!) songs lining up!

January 29th 2004
Oh yeah! Wrecking Crew is on a roll: three songs are shaping up. Remco joined us and brought a complex metal monster - it'll probably suffer some 'wrecking' though . CU in 3 weeks!

January 15th 2004
Alas, Remco couldn't join us last night. His two thrash songs will have to wait.
We've added quite interesting middle parts to both our new songs.
Oh, the gigs fell through. Some other time perhaps.

November 6th 2003
Talk is of doing some gigs. We're not sure about everyone's timetables though.
In the mean time we're working on two songs. One is a bit reminiscent of Testament's 'Electric Crown' - in a way.

October 23rd 2003
Last night we jammed for the first time in months. Buks has taken an older idea that stuck, so it must be good.

October 19th 2003
The 'Gig for Nob' last night was a great success. Thanks everyone for coming. See you all next year. Here's the setlist.

Hello again wreckers!

It's been ages, but then again there's some very interesting news for you: our new 2-song demo is available for download!

The first song called 'Falling Down' is a more than 6 minute-long dark and introspective epic track. Second track 'War Machine' is a furious 220 bpm all speed and thrash fest.

By releasing these two tracks we hope to whet your appetites for our upcoming album which should be available at the end of the year.
Besides 'Falling Down' and 'War Machine' the album will have seven more original Wrecking Crew songs as well as the OverKill cover 'Wrecking Crew'.

Wrecking Crew's line-up is:
Nico Perreijn - lead vocals
Buks Kemp - rhythm and bass guitars
Bram Heijs - rhythm and lead guitars
Remco de Jong - lead guitars
Max Duijsens - drums

Hello friends,

Some disappointing news for you, Wrecking Crew will not be able to attend the Gig for Nob this year! Nico's doctor tells him to take it easy for a while or his throat and vocal cords will develop serious injuries. Take it from us, Nico is the last one who would cancel a gig, but we can't have him ruining his voice. As soon as Nico is allowed to sing again we'll make it up to you!

The Gig for Nob WILL HAPPEN though! On Saturday November 20th Max' cover band '10 Electric' will offer you 1.5 hours of great (hard) rock classics! Find the flyer for that gig attached and SPREAD THE WORD!
